Pat testing London: legislation
Regular testing and monitoring of mainly portable electrical equipment have been recommended since 1989 under the Electricity at Work Regulations. This is to ensure there is no risk of electrocution – or other forms of danger - to anyone handling the appliance. It also ensures that your business isn’t at risk because failing to check the equipment your employees use could see you in trouble with the Health and Safety Executive.
Seeing the equipment they use regularly being PAT tested also gives your staff peace of mind. The type of electrical equipment that tends to be used consistently includes floor cleaners, microwaves, kettles etc, but can include any electrical equipment attached to the electrical wiring system. This means that items such as computers, freezers and photocopiers also come under the PAT testing umbrella. The actual definition for equipment that can be PAT testing includes anything that is ‘moveable’, ‘stationary’, ‘portable’, handheld’ and ‘IT’.
The testing here at Home Compliance Group is carried out by a qualified engineer, to strict standards and with the correct equipment.
About PAT Testing
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is a way to ensure that all the electrical equipment you currently have in use is safe for your employees – or tenants – to use.

Pat testing London
Our engineers not only test your appliances but are happy to repair any inconsistencies with the power supply at the same time.
Once an appliance has been tested, it is provided with a unique and permanent label to indicate that this is the case. That number is logged onto a database, which has the advantage of providing reports and schedules for when further testing of the appliance may be required. This information can be accessed digitally or in printed form.
